Thorsten Palzhoff was born in Wickede in 1974 and now lives in Berlin. Before he received a scholarship from the Authors’ Workshop of the Berlin Literary Colloquium in 2005 he had not taken part in any writing workshops or published in any magazines. In 2006 his debut work “Tasmon” was published by Steidl Verlag. “Tasmon” is made up of three novellas: “Lewkin”, set in Leningrad in 1942 and 1978; “Tasmon”, set in the GDR in 1982; and “Laura”, set in Berlin in 2006. Palzhoff was awarded the 2006 GWK Literature Prize for an excerpt from “Tasmon”.
