Meirion Jordan grew up in Cwmllynfell in Wales and studied Mathematics
at Somerville College, Oxford. He took the MA in Creative Writing from the
University of East Anglia, Norwich, and is in the process of completing a PhD
there. His first collection of poetry, Moonrise, was published by Seren in 2008
and was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. His 2009
poetry pamphlet on outsiders in Norwich, Strangers Hall, published by Gatehouse
Press, and for which he won the 2008 Café Writers Norfolk Commission, was also
shortlisted in the East Anglian Book of the Year Awards. His most recent collection
of poetry, Regeneration, which offers a two-sided look at British history and the
Arthurian Legend, was published by Seren in 2012. Meirion currently divides
his time between Wales and Norwich, and his most recent project looks at the
traditions and martyrologies of the Brecon area, inspired by medieval recitation
and lyric practices.
Jerusalem is the city where the authors of Scritture Giovani 2013 meet each other. The first to try to describe this holy and literary site –to which they have dedicated their short stories – are Laura Fidaleo, author of Dammi un posto tra gli agnelli, and the welsh poet Meirion Jordan (Regeneration). On Israeli soil they will meet Enrico Franceschini (L’uomo della città vecchia). The eventi s moderated by the journalist Chicca Gagliardo.
