Ilaria Gaspari

Biografia

Ilaria Gaspari was born in Milan in 1986. At 18 she moved to Pisa to study philosophy at the Scuola Normale. She stayed in Pisa for five years, writing her BA dissertation on pantheism in German philosophy, and her MA on imagination in Spinoza. After that she moved to Paris where she wrote her doctoral thesis in French on the study of passions in Spinoza and Pascal. Besides an out of the ordinary experience working at Valentino while preparing her thesis, she started writing her first novel, part seriously, part out of fun; a neurotic noir which was temporarily called "Death by water" and later "Acquarium Ethics" ("Etica dell'acquario"). She has recently completed the thesis and a second novel. Her third novel is in the making and she is also writing for the theatre.
