Susanne Heinrich was born in Leipzig in 1985. While still at school she founded her first band, did theatre work and took part in writing workshops. In 2004/2005 she studied at the German Institute of Literature in Leipzig. She has received various awards for her literature and, among other things, took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann competition in 2005 and was awarded residencies at the Literarische Colloquium in Berlin (2008), Villa Aurora in Los Angeles (2010) and Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano (2011). She has published numerous short stories in various anthologies and magazines (including Bella Triste, EDIT, VOLLTEXT). DuMont has published: In den Farben der Nacht (short stories, 2005); Die Andere (novel, 2007); So, jetzt sind wir alle mal glücklich (novel, 2009) and Amerikanische Gefühle (short stories, 2011). She participates in musical and musical-literary projects, the latest one being the Beat Poetry Performance „WIR“ with the musicians Thalstroem and Klaus Klose aka Das Eb. Susanne Heinrich lives and works in Berlin as a freelance writer and as a singer in the band “watching me fall”.
